The Bangalow day: lighthouse, farm, crystals and lunch
Byron Bay Adventure Tours runs this six-hour day in an air-conditioned vehicle. The listing’s order is Cape Byron Lighthouse, then The Farm Byron Bay (heritage pigs, Highland cattle, macadamia and pecan plantations, market gardens), then Crystal Castle, with its large crystals, garden labyrinth and stupa. A drive through the hinterland ends in Bangalow for a barbecue lunch and a walk round the village’s shops. You are back in Byron with time for a late-afternoon swim.
The listing includes the guide, a water bottle, the barbecue lunch (vegetarian on request), national park fees and Crystal Castle entry. On pickup, it mentions return hotel transfers but also gives a meeting point: 8:45 am, NSW time, on the veranda of the Byron Bay Visitor Information Centre. Confirm which applies to your booking.
Hinterland and Bangalow full-day tour
Confirm the pickup point and that the 8:45 am time is NSW time.

Half a day and a waterfall swim
Soul Connect Nature Tours’ half-day trip runs for two and a half hours through rainforest and along creeks to a large waterfall and swimming hole, with binoculars for spotting wildlife. The guide acknowledges the traditional custodians, the Nyangbul and Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation. Fruit is included; towels are not.
The tour runs in all weather and involves walking on uneven ground. The listing rules out children under 9 and people with mobility impairments. It lists pickup in Byron as included but also names a meeting point at the corner of Butler and Somerset streets, so check your confirmation.
Half-day waterfall and wildlife tour
Check the meeting point, bring a towel and swimwear, and note the minimum age of 9.
See itinerary and dates on GetYourGuide (opens in a new tab)Our waterfalls guide covers Minyon Falls and Killen Falls, and which ones you can reach on your own.
A small Tesla tour with a wildlife sanctuary
WANDER Byron takes up to four people in a Tesla for four and a half hours, picking up from Byron accommodation. Midweek it starts at Zentvelds Coffee Roastery; at weekends at Masa Artisan Craft Bakehouse. It then visits Killen Falls, the Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (koalas, snakes, kangaroos and emus, with a presentation), St Helena Lookout and The Farm.
A light breakfast, drinks and snacks are included; lunch and anything from the bakery are not. The sanctuary animals are in care, which is the trade-off against a wild safari. If seeing animals in the wild matters, read our wildlife tours guide.
Wildlife sanctuary and waterfall tour by Tesla
Check whether your day has the roastery or the bakery stop, and that lunch is not included.

Soul Connect’s four-and-a-half-hour eco day starts at Brunswick Heads with a high-tide kayak through the river mangroves, where stingrays, eagles and fish are common, and then drives into the mountains for a rainforest hike and a waterfall swim. National park fees, kayak gear and photos are included.
Lunch and drinks are not, so pack your own or bring money. Byron pickup is an extra, when available. The minimum age is 13, and the listing excludes mobility impairments and heart problems.
Brunswick River kayak, rainforest hike and waterfall
Bring lunch and water, check the minimum age (13), and arrange transport to Brunswick Heads.

Two more tours go inland for a different reason. The evening glow-worm e-bike tour on GetYourGuide (opens in a new tab) picks you up, drives about 25 minutes north to Burringbar and rides a rail trail at dusk to a tunnel lit by glow worms; see our glow-worm guide. The full-day wildlife safari on GetYourGuide (opens in a new tab) looks for koalas and kangaroos in the wild, with a picnic lunch and pickup.
Questions people ask
Can you see the Byron hinterland without a car?
Yes. Every tour here except the kayak-and-hike day includes some form of pickup in Byron. With a car you can reach places such as Minyon Falls on your own.
Do any of these tours go to Nimbin?
None of the listings we checked includes Nimbin. They focus on Bangalow, the falls and the farms closer to Byron.
Which is best on a rainy day?
The Bangalow day involves no swimming. The waterfall tour runs in all weather, which suits some people and not others. See rainy-day ideas.
Is Mount Warning on any of these tours?
No. The Wollumbin (Mount Warning) summit track is closed. Read why, and what to do instead.

- Is lunch included, or do you need to bring it?
- Will you swim? Pack swimwear and a towel.
- Does everyone meet the minimum age and mobility notes?
- Are the animals you will see wild, or in a sanctuary?
